Blanche & Gloria in America

A Gay Fantasia on YouTube Themes

Reblogged from our great tumblr friend shitsandiggles.  We especially agree with his spot-on Matt “Campy McBitcherson” Giraud analysis.

shitsandiggles:

Adore. Blossom looks and sounds like my fave high-school teacher, and “watching french films with my shades on” is something she would totally say.

Also, I am always on the look out for songs to cover (even though I am not a singer), and this song would be perfect for an up-and-coming, bitter mo”s intimate live-at-a-cabaret album (someone like campy mcbitcherson matt giraud for instance. bless.).

For matty it achieves that perfect humour edged with resentment at not being part of the elite that is kradam, and entitlement and bitchment he means but he can get away with as “oh he’s only kidding.”

And the lyric: “beards had their day, now they are passe’” has such an obvious, delicious contemporary innuendo.
